Hulu content moves into the Disney+ app — unified app targeted for late 2026
Since May 19, 2026, Hulu subscribers can link their profile to Disney+ and watch Hulu content in the Disney+ app. Disney is working toward one fully unified app by late 2026.
Disney took a major step in merging Hulu and Disney+ on May 19, 2026: eligible Hulu subscribers can link their Hulu profile to a Disney+ profile and stream Hulu content inside the Disney+ app, with watch history, watchlists and recommendations carrying over. Availability is expanding gradually during 2026.
One app instead of two
Disney says it is working toward a fully unified app, targeted for late 2026, but states there are no current plans to shut down the standalone Hulu app. Hulu + Live TV and several add-ons stay in the Hulu app for now. On some devices the old Hulu app has already been retired — the Nintendo Switch version stopped working on February 5, 2026.
Nothing changes for your subscription
Hulu remains available on its own and in the Disney bundles (Disney+/Hulu/ESPN), at unchanged prices. For bundle subscribers the main change is practical: one app instead of two. Outside the US, Disney already replaced its Star brand with a Hulu hub on Disney+ in October 2025.
